**Description**:
About the role

Permanent part time position (16 hours per week)

The Ethics Executive Officer plays a significant role in supporting the quality of Family Planning Australia's research activities in Australia and the Pacific. We are seeking a well organised person with a passion for research to join our team. This position is responsible for providing a full range of timely, confidential executive and administrative support to the Family Planning Australia Ethics Committee. The role works with a range of stakeholders to ensure research projects are planned and implemented according to required standards and balance the risks and benefits to research participants.

**Skills and Experiences**:
SELECTION CRITERIA

**Essential**:
Graduate qualification in the field of public health, research or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to collate data and information from a range of sources and the ability to effectively track and manage documents, versions and updates.
Ability to implement and maintain established systems and processes in a research-intensive environment and adapt these if required to meet project requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement to achieve required outcomes and maintain high standards and research integrity
Excellent time management skills to prioritise workload during busy periods, manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks, meet deadlines and cater to the needs to multiple stakeholders
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a task-oriented and multi-disciplinary team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Highly competent using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
Must have Australian working rights

**Desirable**:
Experience as a member of a Human Research Ethics Committee

**Other requirements**:
A Criminal Record Check and/or Working with Children Check is/are required prior to commencement in this role
