Are you looking for a challenging role that will allow you to drive sustainability and innovation in the industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Director, Ethics who will provide leadership, vision, and direction for an industry-leading ethics and compliance program.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, leading, and ensuring the execution of Worley's E&C Strategy, driving adoption across all regions and business units. This includes fostering an ethical culture across the organization, promoting understanding and consistent application of the Code of Conduct, and encouraging open communication and collaboration.
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with significant management experience, a strong understanding of ethical practices and related laws, and excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will be able to assimilate information from multiple sources, derive answers, and solve complex problems.
The Group Director, Ethics will serve as a trusted advisor to Senior Leaders, the Group Executive, and Board Members on complex E&C matters. They will provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Group based on internal insights, global trends, and identification of best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy and Culture:
- Develop, lead, and ensure execution of Worley's E&C Strategy, driving adoption across all regions and business units.
- Foster an ethical culture across Worley, inspiring leaders to champion a safe, respectful, and values-driven workplace.
- Promote understanding and consistent application of the Code of Conduct at all levels of the organization.
- Foster the 'Speak up' culture, ensuring mechanisms are accessible, trusted, and supported with timely investigations and resolutions.
- Leadership and Governance:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Senior Leaders, the Group Executive, and Board Members on complex E&C matters.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Group based on internal insights, global trends, and identification of best practices.
- Accountable for the effective monitoring of the global E&C Program and timely reporting on key metrics, trends, and emerging risks to provide actionable insights to the Executive Group and the Board.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a global E&C team of approximately 20 professionals across multiple levels and geographies, fostering high performance and collaboration.
- Ensure the team provides industry-leading guidance and support to the business across a wide range of E&C matters.
- Tools and Enablement:
- Accountable for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of toolkits and resources that promote a safe and ethical working environment.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and effectiveness of E&C training across the company to ensure understanding, retention, and application of key policies and Worley values and behaviors.
- Lead the identification and promotion of best practices in E&C to embed compliance in day-to-day operations.
- Risk Management:
- Lead E&C risk assessments during the pre-contract phase in collaboration with Operations—focusing on areas such as sanctions, third-party due diligence, fraud, corruption, integrity, and assurance. Guide/tailor treatment strategies. Collaborate on human rights assessments, ensuring ethical considerations are embedded in project planning and delivery.
- Typically, 15+ years of relevant experience, with significant management experience.
- Strong understanding of ethical practices and related laws, with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources to derive answers and solve complex problems; translate corporate goals into operational goals and oversee cross-functional implementation.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills with strong attention to detail; ability to present complex proposals to executive leadership; collaborative, inclusive leadership across multi-cultural environments.
- Strong understanding of and adherence with Worley's Code of Conduct and values, and the ability to lead the strategic development of new systems, processes, and tools.
- Ability to independently manage day-to-day challenges, respect timelines, and coordinate with stakeholders across global time zones.
