**Train Operations Coordinator - West Perth**

Watco Australia Pty Ltd is a rail operator in Western Australia. Watco operates services around Australia and has successfully grown its business to include Intermodal and Rail Infrastructure trains and is actively pursuing growth opportunities.

A vacancy exists for a skilled, results driven and self motivated Train Operations Coordinator to join its professional operations team.

This position is based in West Perth and is one of a team that individually mans the Watco Operations Centre on a 24/7 and 365 days per year basis. This position works both day and night shifts as well as weekends.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all Watco train operations and train support services. The position also acts as liaison between Track Access Providers, Customers and Watco personnel on operational matters. This role is the point of contact for the company outside of business hours.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate Watco train services;
- Maintain operations logs, prepare and issue shift operations reports;
- Act with leadership and authority in the coordination of operations providing advice and guidance to train drivers, Operations Managers and external as required;
- Collation and archiving of WOC operational records, reports and information;
- Activate Watco Emergency Response Plans when required;
- Undertake formal shift handovers;
- Initiate Incident Reports and Rollingstock Equipment failure reports as required.
- Undertake appropriate general notifications; and
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies and procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Experience working in a customer service delivery environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Sound interpersonal skills;
- Analytical troubleshooting and problem resolving skills;
- Highly developed time management skills;
- Ability to prioritise and process multiple tasks;
- Make independent judgments using sound reasoning skills and knowledge base;
- Be able to work autonomously and successfully under pressure, meeting tight timelines and maintaining levels of precision in work;
- Practical personal computing skills using programs within MS Office, especially Excel;
- Above average computer skills; and

**Education and Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Minimum education - Graduation in WA Education Year 12 high school or equivalent;
**Desirable**:

- Professional qualification in related professional discipline; or advanced technical training in a related field; or appropriate experience.
