We are seeking to engage an experienced Senior Project Communications Officer for Logan City Council to start immediately. The position will report to the Project Communications Lead.

**Key Responsibilities/ Accountability**
- Manage strategic community engagement and communications programs in collaboration with project personnel to support the effective delivery of road and drainage infrastructure projects through all phases of project delivery and proactively promote Council and its support of communities through its road infrastructure programs.
- Manage the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and associated communications to support project delivery through design development, detailed design and construction phases.
- Collaborate with technical staff to proactively identify community engagement and communications opportunities.
- Provide expert advice to divisional councillors and stakeholders with regard to the communications required to assist the design of the Capital Works Program.
- Manage a variety of complex communication engagement projects, identify resource needs and ensure deadlines, budgets, reporting and corporate priorities are met.
- Work collaboratively with Council's Road Infrastructure Delivery team to ensure consistent, effective and efficient communications and engagement is conducted with a whole of project lifecycle outlook.
- Ensure the planning and delivery of communications and community engagement strategies support the Corporate Plan priorities and contribute positively to Council's reputation.
- Develop, foster and maintain professional networks across Council, suitable to ensure internal liaison and coordination of infrastructure project communication with other infrastructure and public service providers.
- Actively innovate and improve strategies, systems and processes across Council.
- Responsible for the development of communications and community engagement activities associated with road infrastructure projects.
- Develop and deliver a wide range of communications tools, in line with Council guidelines, to meet the diverse needs of the Logan community.
- Provide strategic and tactical communication advice/input, including peer review of materials, in line with Council's guidelines, policies and processes, approvals processes and preferred supplier arrangements.
- Responsible for enhancing relations with a variety of community engagement stakeholders, residents, businesses, agencies and consultants where required.
- Provide guidance, training and support for technical and administrative staff within the branch in undertaking effective community communications and engagements.
- Keep accurate and effective records of all communication and stakeholder engagement activities.

**Skills And Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing or Communications coupled with substantial experience in the development and implementation of strategic and operational stakeholder engagement programs across infrastructure projects.
- Thorough knowledge of community engagement and experience in developing and implementing community engagement strategies across complex infrastructure projects.
- Sound judgement and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a political, corporate, business and community environments.
- Advanced interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with influence and facilitate stakeholder meetings / events.
- Demonstrated project management and problem solving abilities including effective issues management and conflict resolution skills.
- Advanced written communication skills including the ability to write concise and accurate procedures, reports, correspondence and a range of stakeholder engagement material.
- IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation / IAP2 Certificate of Engagement is desirable.
