Laneway Talent is excited to be partnering with a leading federal government agency to recruit a Cyber Security Architect, with opportunities to work in Canberra.
This is an initial 12-month contract with potential for extension, based on performance and project outcomes.
To be eligible, you must hold a current NV1 security clearance.
We're seeking professionals with expertise in cloud security, identity management, or secure software development, supported by qualifications in Cyber Security/ICT.
Highly desirable certifications include TOGAF and/or SABSA, as well as CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent, with additional government-specific cyber security qualifications being an advantage.
A deep understanding of government cyber threats and the ability to thrive in a high-security environment are essential.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Governance, Risk and Assurance, and ICT teams, while also engaging with project managers and external stakeholders.
You'll play a key role in embedding security across system development and operations, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and maintain secure architecture frameworks aligned with government standards (ISM, PSPF, NIST).
Conduct threat modelling and risk assessments, recommending effective mitigation strategies.
Provide security guidance across IT projects, including cloud, infrastructure, and applications.
Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and data protection requirements.
Support incident response and contribute to post-incident reviews and remediation.
Monitor emerging threats and technologies to improve the agency's security posture.
Must Have
Experience in cyber security architecture, including secure system design and risk assessments.
Strong knowledge of government security frameworks and standards (ISM, PSPF, NIST).
Familiarity with cloud security and identity and access management.
Ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience providing security oversight across IT projects (infrastructure and applications).
