Overview

Cyber Security Architect role with a government agency based in Canberra. This senior-level opportunity focuses on shaping the cyber security architecture for a high-impact program. The Lead Cyber Security Architect will work on complex and sensitive projects, ensuring the security architecture aligns with organisational goals and supports critical reform initiatives.

Our client is a government service provider responsible for delivering and funding support services to thousands of Australians. This role is located in Canberra with potential nationwide impact.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and advising on cyber security architecture across multiple capabilities, including identity and access, cyber security operations, and public-facing systems.
  • Developing IT security standards, policies, procedures, and controls to manage risks effectively.
  • Supporting compliance with relevant standards such as PSPF, ISM, and Agency Risk Management Frameworks.
  • Collaborating with project teams and subject matter experts to deliver secure solutions.
  • Producing technical documentation and presenting to executive stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cyber security architecture, including governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to work in agile environments and adapt to changing project directions.
  • Experience assessing risks and security standards in greenfield environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Government governance concepts, particularly in ICT policy and standards development.
  • CISSP certification or equivalent (desirable).
  • Demonstrated skills across all architecture domains, including business, information, security, data, technology, integration, and application (desirable).
Requirements
  • Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain NV1 clearance (essential).
Salary

Salary: A$156,000.00 - A$196,000.00 per year
