This is not a carer role — it's a dynamic, hands-on position where you will support participants to grow their independence, confidence, and capacity through structured programs.You'll work directly with participants to help them set and achieve goals around employment, education, social connection, and community participation.
From travel training and team projects to digital skills and job readiness, you'll play a key role in their learning journey.You'll be guided by the Program Manager and work closely with Program Facilitators to deliver sessions, lead small group activities, and provide 1:1 support — always with a focus on building skills for the future.What You'll DoAs a Program Assistant at Co-Hive, you'll help bring programs to life — not by simply supporting, but by actively contributing to the development of young adults as they build the skills, confidence, and independence to take charge of their future.You'll work closely with participants to help them achieve their individual goals around employment, further education, social connection, and community participation.
You'll play a vital role in promoting self-determination, supporting participants to advocate for themselves, make informed choices, and feel a true sense of belonging at Co-Hive.Your key responsibilities include:Program Contribution & Participant SupportSupport the delivery of structured group programs across a variety of interest and skill-building areasLead small-group and 1:1 activities such as travel training, digital skills, budgeting, or goal-settingHelp participants practise everyday skills through hands-on, real-world learning and community engagementAdapt and personalise your support to ensure all participants feel capable, included, and empoweredWork closely with participants to help them achieve their individual goals — whether that's building independence, getting a job, or exploring further educationPromoting Self-Determination & ConfidenceEncourage participants to make choices, solve problems, and reflect on their progressSupport the development of self-advocacy and communication skillsHelp participants find their voice, speak up about their needs, and take ownership of their learning journeyFoster a strong sense of community and connection, where everyone feels valued, respected, and part of something biggerTeam CollaborationWork in partnership with your Program Facilitator to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging sessionsShare insights from your work with participants to help tailor the learning experienceContribute to a positive, inclusive team culture where all ideas are welcomedSupport the day-to-day running of the hub — including preparing resources, setting up spaces, and ensuring the environment remains welcoming and safeTechnology & CommunicationConfidently use digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva, AI platforms, etc.) to support participants and enhance program deliveryAssist with note-taking, recording progress, and ensuring documentation meets NDIS requirementsMaintain professional and respectful communication with families, carers, and support networksFollow all Co-Hive processes and uphold our values of respect, creativity, inclusion, and excellenceWe're Looking For Someone With:Experience working with people with disability or in related support, education, or youth development rolesA calm, empathetic, and proactive approachConfidence supporting small groups or individuals in learning and goal-settingWillingness to take initiative while working collaboratively with othersStrong communication, organisation, and digital skillsAn interest in using technology and innovation to enhance learningA strong belief in inclusion, self-determination, and every person's potentialExperience or Interest in Any of the Following Areas is a Bonus:Disability or community supportEducation or youth mentoringHospitality or cookingGardening or horticultureArts, drama, or creative mediaFitness, sport, or recreationAnimal careTechnology and digital toolsWhy Join Co-Hive?
