Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and strategic
Technical Development/ Product Lead
to drive the design, development, and successful implementation of new technology features within our bespoke job management platform. This role will be responsible for end-to-end project scoping, coordination of offshore development teams, QA testing, and rollout of features to production. The ideal candidate combines technical capability with strong communication and project management skills to deliver innovative solutions that directly improve business operations and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Scoping & Feature Design
Translate business needs into detailed technical scopes, wireframes, and user stories.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Operations) to capture requirements and prioritise development roadmap.
Break down high-level concepts into clearly defined developer tasks.
Team Management & Coordination
Manage and oversee daily activity of offshore developers (Sri Lanka team), ensuring timelines, scope, and code quality are met.
Assign tasks, review progress, and maintain clear communication channels with the dev team.
Run weekly sprints or standups to maintain momentum on feature builds.
Testing & QA
Develop and maintain testing procedures for all new features and platform changes.
Personally conduct or oversee UAT (User Acceptance Testing) before sign-off and production deployment.
Ensure bug tracking, fixes, and regression testing are completed thoroughly.
Implementation & Deployment
Coordinate and manage the release of new features into the live environment, including internal documentation and team training.
Monitor post-deployment performance and ensure stability and usability.
Handle system issues or unexpected behaviour in collaboration with the offshore team.
Strategic Development Planning
Maintain a clear development pipeline aligned with business goals and operational priorities.
Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, automation, and user experience.
Contribute to long-term platform strategy, including integration planning and AI enhancement.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and web-based platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication — able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficient in scoping, writing user stories, and QA testing.
Strong leadership and coordination skills, particularly across offshore or remote teams.
High attention to detail with a passion for clean, reliable systems.
Comfortable working autonomously and driving outcomes with minimal oversight.
Experience & Qualifications:
3+ years in a technical project management, software product ownership, or development team leadership role.
Experience working with offshore developers and distributed teams.
Familiarity with AWS infrastructure preferred.
Background in field services, compliance, or logistics systems (advantageous).
