**THE ROLE**

The Contracting Specialist negotiates, executes and administers minor contracts for the Generation Development Team. The role is responsible for development of strategic procurement documentation and management of RFx processes in collaboration with the broader Generation Development Team. The role will prepare and co-ordinate commercial packages including EOIs, tenders, internal governance, contract documentation for government and private sector development projects. The role will be accountable for contract management and commercial administration relating to project delivery and will require extensive engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

**More about the role**:

- Negotiate, govern and execute minor contracts using Origin standard templates to support projects (CAs, MSAs, Works Orders, etc).
- Co-ordinate and/or support the development of strategic procurement activities to support delivery of complex bespoke projects for the Generation and Development Team, including the development of RFx documentation, supplier evaluation processes and liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to deliver specific project objectives.
- Prepare and distribute commercial correspondence relating to project contracts.
- Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies as required to assist with securing project development approvals and understanding regulatory risks and constraints.
- Provide insurance claims management support as needed in conjunction with Origin's insurance team and brokers.
- Prepare, issue and respond to general correspondence in relation to Generation & Development Team contracts and projects including contract claims and disputes.
- Coordinate execution of documents for the Generation & Development Contracts team through Origin's Contracts Governance processes.

**Essential**
- Superior oral and written communication.
- Well-developed analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills including the capacity to build relationships with internal and external contacts across a wide range of disciplines and viewpoints
- Well-developed understanding of contract law principles, including contract structures and terms, particularly for construction and/or energy industry.

**Desirable**
- Experience in negotiating and drafting simple contracts using template agreements.
- Experience in project administration.
- Experience in purchasing and procurement.
- Experience managing diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient with SAP, Ariba, MS Office, SharePoint, OneDrive and MS Teams.
- Experience coordinating the development of RFx documentation, bid management and supplier evaluation. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, administration, and execution of minor contracts in a construction, energy industry or related industry.
