About The Role
We're seeking a skilled
Investigator
to lead sensitive investigations under the
Reportable Conduct Scheme
across our Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services. You'll operate independently, free from operational influence, and deliver fair, balanced reports that uphold legal and regulatory standards.

This is a national role, ideal for professionals with experience in investigations, compliance, child protection, or safeguarding—particularly those with backgrounds in policing, regulatory bodies, government departments, or early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate allegations of child abuse or misconduct
  • Gather and analyse evidence, conduct interviews, and collaborate with child safety professionals
  • Prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies including the Ombudsman and other agencies
  • Identify systemic risks and recommend improvements to prevent future incidents

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in investigations, compliance auditing, or legal analysis—ideally in child protection, government, or ECEC
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations (essential)
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Child Protection, Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Strong understanding of the Reportable Conduct Scheme and National Child Safe Standards
  • National Police Check & Working with Children Check
  • High-level communication, resilience, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and travel nationally as required
