**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
We have an exciting opportunity within our Technology Services team for a dynamic Service Desk Support Officer to join the team and be responsible for providing a multi-level service desk support for staff. Reporting to the Service Desk Coordinator, the role includes commissioning new desktops, laptops and mobile devices, configuration, device support, technical support, asset management, picking up requests for service and incidents and managing from initiation to resolution with appropriate escalation to an alternate team as required within agreed service levels.
This position will also assist with the implementation of new technologies and projects across Council, liaising with external service providers and supporting Council's elected representatives with Council supplied hardware and software.
The successful applicant will require:
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Business Information Technology or at least two (2) years' experience in an Information Technology support role i.e. 1st or 2nd level Service Desk support
- Experience operating in a corporate networking environment, remote user support and onboarding of new and off boarding of departing staff
- Demonstrated experience in provisioning hardware and asset management
- Experience in Active Directory on prem and Azure
- Experience with a wide range of operating systems including but not exclusive to Windows, IOS and Android
- Experience with one-on-one staff training in a computer environment
- To be proactive and able to work with mínimal supervision
- Current class C drivers' licence.

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.
The position will be predominantly based in our Auburn and Merrylands Service Centres however the successful applicant will be expected to travel to any of Council's approximate 30 networked sites to provide support and conducting regular asset checks as required.
**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 9 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,350.06 to $1,552.57 per week plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
