Chandler Macleod is excited to collaborate with an Australian Bus and Coach manufacturing company to seek a talented individual for the position of 'Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator.' This hands-on role entails coordinating all national and international freight requirements while managing purchasing tasks for various production and consumable suppliers. This is a full-time, six-month term contract based in South Dandenong, offering an hourly rate of up to $35.

Responsibilities: As the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

- Coordination of interstate freight requirements: Efficiently manage the transportation of goods between different states, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Coordination of Export and Import LCL/FCL/Airfreight shipments: Oversee the entire process of exporting and importing goods, including handling all necessary customs documentation, to facilitate smooth and compliant international trade.
- Approval and GL Coding of freight invoices: Review and authorize freight invoices, ensuring accurate GL coding for proper financial record-keeping.
- Place purchase orders: Collaborate with vendors to place purchase orders, aligning with the material requirements outlined in the Master Production Schedule across multiple sites.
- Assisting with Expediting Processes: Support and facilitate the expediting processes, ensuring timely delivery of ordered materials and minimizing disruptions to production.
- Check purchase orders for accuracy: Conduct thorough checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of purchase orders before transmitting them to vendors.
- Maintain accurate database: Regularly update and maintain a comprehensive database containing purchase prices and vendor information across all sites.

Qualifications and Experience: To excel in this role, the successful applicant should possess the following qualifications and experience:

- Previous experience in a similar position, ideally within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of freight coordination, including interstate and international logistics, customs regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with approving and coding freight invoices for accurate financial reporting.
- Proficiency in placing purchase orders and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Ability to assist with expediting processes to maintain efficient production schedules.
- Attention to detail and the ability to verify the accuracy of purchase orders.
- Data management skills and the ability to maintain a comprehensive database of purchase prices and vendor information.
