Your opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious Technical Support Officer to join our Mechanical Electrical and Control Systems (MECS) mobilisation team on a fixed term contract until early July 2025.

The Operations and Maintenance group is dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient supply of water services to our customers through the operation and maintenance of our water, wastewater and resource recovery infrastructure. This group plays a pivotal role in delivering on Urban Utilities Purpose to "Enrich Quality of Life" with performance measures through the delivery of critical outcomes of ensuring the safety of our people and customers, protecting public health, protecting the environment, ensuring the provision of the services meets the needs of our customers and minimising the cost of these services in the long run.

This role will be accountable for providing technical support for the mobilisation of the Mechanical Electrical and Control Systems contract and other civil related contracts. These contracts are part of the overall strategy for the new One System for Maintenance commercial model.

The role adds value by providing technical delivery support to the partners and advice that contribute towards innovative solutions in how we deliver work under the new contracts and assists in facilitating a continuous improvement environment.

About you:
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Business, IT, Project Management, or significant professional experience.- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in providing technical support for fieldwork across mechanical, electrical, control systems, and civil works.- Operational Knowledge: Demonstrated operational experience with a strong understanding of service delivery operations, with the ability to effectively translate technical or field knowledge to stakeholders.- Project Management: Proven success in managing complex projects with tight deadlines and driving change in large-scale initiatives.- Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate effectively, and manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.- Commercial Acumen: A solid understanding of business environments and objectives.- Documentation Skills: Experience in preparing high-quality documentation and reporting.- Security Clearance: Eligibility to meet security clearance and SOCI (Security of Critical Infrastructure) requirements.- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of water and sewer systems (advantageous but not essential).- Proactive Approach: Self-motivated, driven, and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment.
