The Safety Focused Performance Joint Venture (SFPJV) is a delivery team comprising of Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure (Abergeldie), Downer Group (Downer) and Stantec Australia (Stantec) - together we are delivering the Melbourne Water Capital Works Program, a long term framework.
SFP is dedicated to working safely and creating safe outcomes for our employees, Melbourne Water, its customers and the community. We are an inclusive team with a full spectrum of expertise and resources necessary to safely self-perform all Design and Construction (D&C) of Water, Sewerage and Sewer Rehabilitation works under this program.
**About the role**:
We have a wonderful opportunity within our friendly and professional engagement team. This position suits someone already working in the construction industry or those interested in expanding their community engagement experience into infrastructure projects. Your focus will be on **developing and implementing best practice stakeholder management and engagement strategies** that support the project team and the communities we're working in across Melbourne.
**Your responsibilities**:

- Collaborating with the Melbourne Water community engagement team and SFPJV partners aligning communication plans with strategic goals for the program.
- Researching and compiling detailed information on each project to facilitate effective communication and engagement with all stakeholders.
- Develop communications materials, physical and digital, to inform interested parties about our works.
- Supporting the Project Managers and delivery teams in engaging with affected parties throughout the communities impacted by our works.
- Alignment with IAP2 values, supporting and building strong relationships with the communities we are working within.

**What you need**
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, or a related discipline, or proven experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven capacity to influence diverse stakeholders and foster engagement.
- Skills in problem solving community issues.
- Demonstrated capacity to prepare quality written reports, minutes, briefings, plain language community information tools and other materials as required.
- Experience in the use of social media tools to engage with stakeholders.
- Previous experience and knowledge of the construction industry is preferred.
- Team contributor with a willingness to assist where needed.
