**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
The key responsibility of the Community Engagement Advisor is to listen to and understand the social changes that impact today's multi-faith, multicultural and multigenerational community. This includes SMCT's ability to engage, influence and support stakeholder relationships to generate mutual value and create positive social impact for our customers, communities, suppliers, business partners and government.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinate community and cultural research that supports collaboration and consultation to inform service offering and growth opportunities
- Contribute insights and analysis to explore future service offerings and directions for cultural communities
- Implement ongoing community engagement programs that support tactical and strategic initiatives with an emphasis on Victoria's diverse cultural communities
- Identify and nurture relationships with values-aligned organisations, existing networks and community / service organisations whose purpose it is to deliver a positive social impact and across the Victorian community
- Contribute to the effective development of the Community Engagement Team, along with the implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of SMCT's Community Engagement Plan

**ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA**
- Proven knowledge and skills in collaborating with diverse communities and individuals with the ability to build and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships
- Experience in community engagement with the ability to draft stakeholder engagement plans
- Skilled verbal and written communicator capable of interacting with all levels of employees across all departments as well as the Executive and Trust
- Experience with presenting and facilitating workshops to drive community outcomes.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and after hours if necessary to attend internal and community/industry events or functions
