General Manager – The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines | King Street Wharf
The Sporting Globe is Australia's premier sports bar and grill. Our King Street Wharf venue is a flagship location on Sydney's iconic waterfront, a high-energy, high-volume site that sets the pace for guest experience and operational excellence. In partnership with the legendary 4 Pines team and our on-site brewery, this venue brings together beer and sport to deliver flavour, atmosphere, and unforgettable moments.
We're looking for a General Manager who leads from the front, is hands on, and knows how to run a large-scale venue with discipline, energy, and a guest-first mindset.
Responsibilities
Lead fast-paced, high-volume hospitality operations with confidence and clarity under pressure.
Manage P&L, labor, COGS, forecasting, and drive venue profitability.
Oversee functions, events, large bookings, and major game-day operations.
Lead by example with a hands-on management style, high accountability, and the ability to set the tone from the floor.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the on-site 4 Pines brewery team, to deliver innovative beer-led experiences and activations.
Maintain a guest-obsessed mindset with a focus on service consistency and quality.
Oversee local area marketing, community engagement, and strategies to build repeat visitation.
Ensure compliance with late-night operations, liquor licensing, and entertainment-led trade.
Build, coach, and retain high-performing teams and foster an energetic, results-driven culture.
Qualifications
Proven experience leading fast-paced, high-volume hospitality venues, with confidence and clarity under pressure.
Strong commercial acumen across P&L management, labour and COGS control, forecasting, and profitability.
Demonstrated success in functions, events, large bookings, and game-day operations.
A hands-on leadership style with high accountability, ownership, and the ability to set the tone from the floor.
Skilled in managing key stakeholder relationships, including collaboration with the on-site brewery team.
A guest-obsessed mindset and a sharp eye for service quality and consistency.
Experience with local area marketing, community engagement, and building repeat visitation.
Familiarity with late-night operations, liquor licensing, compliance, and entertainment-led trade.
Natural ability to build, coach, and retain high-performing teams, fostering a culture that thrives on energy and results.
