About the role

The Customer Markets Risk and Compliance team executes a best practice compliance framework to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality outcomes for AGL and its customers. As a critical enabler of business strategy and operations, the team deliver a disciplined, robust and commercially feasible 'first line of defence' function for all of the Customer Markets department. The Compliance Advisor will work across all of Customer Markets providing compliance expertise and support to ensure Customer Markets meets its compliance objectives.

The Compliance Advisor's key responsibilities are:
- Compliance Assurance Framework_- Auditing and Monitoring_- Reporting_

What you'll be doing:
- Deliver to the Customer Markets compliance assurance framework, which includes performing positive assurance assessments to identify and implement critical controls to mitigate non-compliance.- Co-ordinate and manage all internal and external audits which include energy regulatory audits, telecommunication regulatory audits, PCI-DSS Compliance reviews and Environmental scheme audits.- Perform activity as per the assurance framework including performing desktop reviews and testing controls to identify compliance risks.- Drafting reports and presenting findings of activity to relevant teams.- Develop and execute action plans to close gaps and deliver value, ensuring buy in from relevant stakeholders.- Participate in the design of a compliance assurance framework for Customer Markets. This includes ensuring the formal assurance framework has commitment from relevant stakeholders, ensuring effective processes, procedures and controls are in place and compliance performance is continually monitored and reported.- Assist in the management of a formal compliance program for Customer Markets, in accordance with the requirements of ISO 19600.- Working with stakeholders to identify and implement appropriate mitigation strategies, improvement opportunities and sustainable controls.- Conduct and take appropriate action according to results generated from compliance monitoring activities, with a view to facilitating compliance - eg. development of compliance plans in areas where there have been repeated instances of non-compliance.- Co-ordinate and manage audits internally (Group Audit), and externally (Regulators) to ensure to smooth and timely delivery of audit timeframes.- Track audit actions and due dates, and drive implementation of actions by relevant teams.- Deliver insightful and useable management reporting relating to assurance activities and drive management ownership of results and actions.- Design assurance framework templates for internal reporting purposes.- Deliver reporting to facilitate meaningful discussion at the Customer Markets Risk Governance Committee and/or other appropriate forums.

What you'll be doing:
- Relevant experience within a regulatory advisory, compliance, assurance and/or audit role, preferably in the retail energy or telco sector (or other regulated industry).- Strong literacy skills and experience in the preparation of written reports for senior management and/or external regulatory bodies.- High attention to detail and driven to present information with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.- Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment and respond and deliver to very short deadlines when required.- Proven ability to drive collaborative outcomes across cross-functional departments with competing priorities.- Excellent presenting skills, both oral and written (powerpoint packs, senior management briefings). Ability to distil complex information to achieve outcomes.- Self-starter, who can self-manage time and priorities.
