**Quick overview of the role**
You will contribute toward the effective operational health, safety, and environmental performance across the organisation. Primarily an in-field focused position, proactively engaging with workers on all HSE-related matters, providing technical advice, and ensuring compliance in line with HSE-related legislation, codes and standards, and management systems relative to the organisation.
**What will you be doing?**
- Assist to provide training and practical support with HSE-related management systems and proactively consult and implement system improvements.
- Assist to lead and record regular safety walks, hazard identification, internal audits, and other HSE-related assurance activities across the organisation.
- Participate in incident investigations and ensure quality standards of incident findings and corrective action management
- Assist to facilitate department and workgroup risk assessments
- Provide mentoring and support to work group HSRs
- Assist with the coordination of fire safety and emergency management-related activities and compliance across the organisation.
- Assist to ensure effective regulatory and statutory reporting requirements are met within timeframes.
- Support HSE-related training and coaching activities, including active engagement at group toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and HSR Committee meetings
- Assist to facilitate onboarding and refresher company inductions
- Assist in effectively addressing HSE-related non-conformances raised through external audits
- Current C Class Driver's license or above
- Incident investigation training/experience (i.e., 5-Why, ICAM methodology)
- Appropriate experience or qualifications relevant to the given role
- Highly organised with time management skills
- Ability to ensure excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- A team player with a positive nature and can-do attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Certificate IV in WHS or similar preferred but not essential
- Sound knowledge of production planning preferred
