Job Overview

Our organization is seeking a Health and Safety Professional to join our team in Yatala, Australia. As a key member of our Operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees while also maintaining a safe working environment.

The successful candidate will have sound experience in a similar HSE role in food manufacturing or mass production environments, with a strong understanding of government safety requirements and industry standards. They will be able to facilitate safety training programs for small and large groups and possess excellent communication skills. Additionally, they will be self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to fostering an inclusive work culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical health and safety advice to the business and support the development of effective monitoring programmes.

• Support operational staff, engineers, and shift employees with advice on HS issues and ensure all legislative standards are included in the relevant components of the site HS plan and activities.

• Participate in hazard identification activities, guide employees in the risk assessment process, and review documented risk assessments.

• Coordinate and deliver Health and Safety Training to all management and employees, demonstrating a commitment to employee's health & safety.

• Support the Return to Work Initiatives and manage employee personal injury and illness cases, including Return to Work programs.

Requirements

• Sound experience in a similar HSE role in food manufacturing or mass production environments.

• Cert IV in WHS or similar qualifications.

• Excellent project management experience in driving the delivery of safety projects as required.

• Strong understanding of government safety requirements and industry standards.

• Ability to facilitate safety training programs for small and large groups.

• Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to fostering an inclusive work culture.
