**As part of your role, you will**:

- liaise with the three Board's and QLeave concerning requests and advice on finance and investment matters
- be responsible for the overall quality assurance of FIS function deliverables, maintaining high service standards
- drive the strategic direction and future vision of the FIS function
- conduct risk assessments in accordance with QLeave's Risk appetite statement for the QIC investment portfolios
- provide financial advice and support to the Executive Leadership team, about strategic initiatives and opportunities to improve QLeave's financial management and investment performance
- oversee the planning and coordination of the budget cycle within QLeave
- deliver accurate and value-adding reporting and advice, backed by data and analytics to support strategic and operational decision-making and support enhanced risk management
- oversee the engagement with the external auditors
- oversee the FIS policies and procedures to ensure they are reviewed and kept current in accordance with QLeave's Controlled documents framework
- oversee, and be accountable for, FIS risk assurance statements

Qualifications in Economics, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is mandatory. Qualifications as a Certified Practising Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent, will be viewed favourably.

**What we are looking for**:

- proven experience in collaboration and reporting at a strategic level, including at board level
- persuasive negotiating skills and ability to engage and drive relationships
- demonstrated experience (at least 10 years preferred) in the management of financial/commercial services and a comprehensive knowledge of financial management legislation, standards and policies
- extensive knowledge of accounting principles and the use of innovative planning, budgeting and forecasting tools
- ability to deliver strategic insights to support decision-making to the Executive Leadership Team
- experience in, or a detailed understanding of, managing significant investment portfolios will be highly regarded
- ability to gain and report knowledge on current financial topics related to our industry
- thorough knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change
