**The Role**

As a key member of the NITV Senior Leadership team, the Head of Indigenous News & Current Affairs is responsible for the leadership of the Indigenous News & Current Affairs branch. This role requires a deep understanding of the dynamic and constantly changing Indigenous media landscape.

The responsibilities of the role include the comprehensive planning, decision making, and execution required to achieve the objectives of the Indigenous News and Current Affairs Branch. This role oversees the commissioning and output for all NITV news and current affairs platforms.

**About you**
- Contribute to the overall NITV strategy and playing an active role in the Senior Leadership team
- Define NITV's Indigenous News & Current Affairs' overall editorial direction, ensuring always that its output meets SBS editorial standards, is fair and balanced, builds trust with audiences, and is aligned to the SBS Charter/NITV Charter.
- Navigate the rapidly changing news and media environment and take the necessary steps to respond to new challenges, remain relevant to audiences, and look for new opportunities to grow audience engagement and reach.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Indigenous News & Current Affairs branch, aligning teams around a single, integrated, and long-term vision for the division.
- Provide outstanding editorial and creative leadership to the Indigenous News & Current Affairs teams to enhance the strength, depth and quality of our services across all platforms.
- Lead the ongoing digital transformation of NITV news services, working closely and collaboratively with the NITV Leadership team in order to encourage invention and innovation both in the newsroom and in delivery to audiences.
