**About the role**
- UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business is looking for a Quality Coordinator to join the Quality Team based at our facility in Broadmeadow, Newcastle on a casual basis. The quality team at Broadmeadow support on several rollingstock newbuilds, maintenance and component overhaul projects with various customer.
- Reporting to the National Quality Manager, you will support the KiwiRail 450 CFT Wagon Project and production teams in creating, reviewing, and updating inspection and work instructions, and approval of jigs and fixtures. You will also be required to train KiwiRail personnel on the correct use of the instruction documents.
- Key responsibilities and accountabilities for this role include:
- Identify "critical to quality" characteristics for products and services that are offered and developed, or facilitate the development of quality plans for products and services
- Develop quality materials (including instructions, forms, check sheets, and records) for use within function or values stream business activities
- Ensure document publication through IMS control phases and processes, communicate changed process requirements, and ensure planned introduction across all locations.
- Support the deployment of quality requirements through the delivery of appropriate education, training, and on-the-job skills development
- Undertake process and product audits as per agreed review schedules and prepare and publish audit reports to business managers that clearly describe findings, initial actions taken and opportunities for improvement
- Participate in the investigation of product and service failure and assist in determining the positive resolution of customer complaints and issues
- Undertake audits on supplier quality management systems, report results and work with Supply Chain and suppliers to prompt resolutions to deficiencies
- Work with Supply Chain to assure the quality of supplied goods and services through effective levels of planning, supplier development and review and improvement activities.
- Participate in 1st and 2nd Party Audits of the integrated quality management system.
- This role will require travel to Indonesia and New Zealand.
**About you**
- Engineering or trade discipline
- Experience in a quality role in manufacturing, maintenance, or an engineering environment is a must.
- Experience in the development of Work Instruction and Quality Check Sheets
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles and quality assurance practices.
- Good understanding of ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements
- Demonstrated high-level trade-related SME knowledge in the product/s.
- Experience in Jig and Fixture design
- Experience in New Product Introduction and manufacturing facility set-up.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
