Ux & Demand Analyst
**The Role**:
**Where you fit in**
Within the Shell Australia Information & Digital Technology (IDT) team sits a Portfolio Delivery team that focuses on supporting Digital, Data & Application delivery for the Business Proximate Shell Australia Assets (QGC and Prelude, plus supporting corporate functions). The team includes team members in Brisbane, Perth and offshore.
Your role as UX & Demand Advisor reports to the IDT Australia Portfolio Manager and is in located in Brisbane. Your primary responsibility is to support Delivery for the two Australia assets, their IDT Managers and the Portfolio Manager themselves.
**What's the role?**
The UX & Demand Advisor plays a pivotal role in this delivery as a key part of the cross-Australia delivery function working with multiple natural teams across local and global Business and IDT partners to ensure non-disruptive delivery of Business Value to time, cost and the required quality.
This is a key business-facing role and combines the need for IDT solutions to be defined with the End User Experience (UX) very much in mind when assessing Demand and Designing Solutions, particularly where these are Digital Solutions delivered by the Digital Execution Team (DET) and the local Software Engineer team on the Development Platform. The role will also play and key part in Change and Communications for delivered solutions.
Your key accountabilities include:
- Acting as a Demand Analyst for items that enter the Digital Work Funnel.
- Ensuring that the final solution design is fit for purpose for the end user.
- Supporting IDT in delivering to Australian Country and Asset Leadership Teams.
- Driving Business Change Management activity and communication with key stakeholders.
The role requires an individual with the ability to focus on a variety of concurrent tasks in these different disciplines, as opposed to focusing solely in one area. The IDT Advisor will need to be comfortable with the changing priorities of the asset over time. They will need to display a high degree of flexibility, resilience, and a strong learner mindset across a broad spectrum of Business and Operational functions.
The individual will also need to be comfortable working in a natural team and the Business, fitting in with business proximate ways of working and the size of the overall IDT team. There is the potential to engage with every team supporting IDT Australia, depending on Business priority, and will need to support organisationally, geographically, and culturally diverse teams.
There is the possibility of needing to visit or work in the QGC field (Upstream and / or Midstream) and Prelude Perth Office but this would be infrequent and on a temporary basis. All appropriate safety training and PPE will be provided.
**What we need from you**
We are keen to speak to professionals with the following:
- Information Technology knowledge is required though not necessarily gained within an Information Technology function. The role could suit an individual not currently in IDT involved in project delivery in the past looking at next options in their career.
- Awareness of different Project methodologies, Project Planning and Project Management techniques (e.g. Issue and Risk Management) is advantageous.
- Exposure to Business Partnering and Value. Able to build effective working relationships, understanding their business drivers and individual needs to create significant business value.
- Exposure to working with software suppliers (vendors), system integrators, contractors and staff across multiple global locations and building multi-discipline teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills: the role requires pro-active communication and an ability to work closely with other members in project teams and other disciplines.
- Proven experience and exposure to User Design and Business Change Management.
- Effective communication, presentation and senior stakeholder management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to proactively connect stakeholders across the business.
- Ability to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines.
- Deep commitment to Safety and personal accountability.
- Proven ability to impact team culture and deliver outcomes positively and creatively.
