As a trusted recruitment partner for our client, a leading organization in the lighting industry, we are excited to present a unique opportunity for an experienced and dynamic professional to join as the State Sales Manager for Victoria.
In this senior-level role, you will play a key part in shaping and executing high-impact sales strategies targeting Trade, Specialist Stores, and selected Majors across VIC.
Your leadership will be instrumental in driving corporate sales goals, fostering key customer relationships, and expanding market influence.
**Responsibilities**:
- Spearhead the development and implementation of strategic sales plans aligned with overarching corporate objectives.
- Identify and secure lucrative new business sales opportunities to strategically expand market presence.
- Utilize your seasoned expertise to prepare accurate sales forecasts and set ambitious yet achievable performance goals for the sales team.
- Conduct comprehensive market analyses to discern customer needs, price schedules, and optimal discount rates.
- Lead and mentor the sales team in Victoria, overseeing training, performance evaluations, and robust development initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships through regular meetings with key customers, state, and regional general managers.
- Provide valuable feedback to the National Sales Manager through insightful reviews of product ranges.
- Proactively monitor Gross Profit (GP) against budget, demonstrating your financial acumen by adjusting sell prices and discounting to meet targets.
- Act as the ambassador of our client at trade days and association meetings, effectively promoting products and enhancing the brand image.
- Deliver compelling and persuasive sales presentations to key clients, showcasing the unique value proposition of our client's offerings.
- Keep a vigilant eye on competitor activities and products, leveraging this intelligence to maintain a competitive edge.
- Prepare comprehensive budgets, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.
**Experience/Qualifications**:
- A proven track record in senior-level sales management, preferably within the lighting or related industry.
- Demonstrated prowess in leadership and team management, inspiring excellence and achieving collective success.
- Exceptional analytical and strategic planning abilities, with a track record of translating plans into tangible results.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, honed through years of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on consistently exceeding ambitious sales targets.
- Familiarity with trade and wholesale specialist store environments, and a keen understanding of market dynamics.
- In-depth knowledge of the Victorian market, providing a valuable edge in crafting effective sales strategies.
- Proven experience in budget management, showcasing financial acumen and responsible resource allocation.
