Our client, located in Port Pirie, operates an integrated multi-metals recovery plant with a rich history of over 150 years as a leading manufacturer of zinc, lead, and other metals.
We are seeking an experienced Blood Nurse to join the team for an upcoming shutdown project.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-profile operation while enjoying excellent site conditions and support.
Project Dates: 4th of October – 1st of December 2025 What's on offer: Competitive pay rate Consistent 12-hour day shifts on a 13/1 roster Accommodation and meals provided on site Travel allowance to support mobilisation Opportunity to be part of a major shutdown project with a leading resources company Duties include, but are not limited to: Verify patient identities and pertinent information through approved identification methods.
Provide reassurance and maintain a calm, supportive environment for patients.
Identify suitable veins and safely collect high-quality blood samples.
Use sterilised needles, vials, and equipment in accordance with clinical standards.
Accurately label and document samples, ensuring prompt delivery to the testing facility.
Respond to patient questions and provide clear information.
Adhere strictly to health, safety, and infection control regulations.
Assist with Blood Room setup/closure and medical waste management where required.
Successful candidates will possess the following: Registered Nurse or a formal qualification in Phlebotomy.
Available for the whole duration of the shutdown Previous experience as a Blood Collection Specialist or Phlebotomy Technician.
Proficient in venepuncture techniques and patient ID protocols.
Strong computer literacy for data entry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Pre-screening requirements for fitness for work, including drug and alcohol screening, form part of the minimum requirement for selection and employment.
