Blood Collection Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Blood Collection Specialist to support our team during an upcoming shutdown project. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-profile operation while enjoying excellent site conditions and support.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identities and pertinent information through approved identification methods.
- Provide reassurance and maintain a calm, supportive environment for patients.
- Identify suitable veins and safely collect high-quality blood samples.
- Use sterilized needles, vials, and equipment in accordance with clinical standards.
- Accurately label and document samples, ensuring prompt delivery to the testing facility.
- Respond to patient questions and provide clear information.
- Safety Protocols:
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and infection control regulations.
- Assist with Blood Room setup/closure and medical waste management where required.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse or a formal qualification in Phlebotomy.
- Available for the whole duration of the shutdown.
- Previous experience as a Blood Collection Specialist or Phlebotomy Technician.
- Proficient in venepuncture techniques and patient ID protocols.
- Key Skills:
- Strong computer literacy for data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
