Category Manager - Indirect and Services looks after the management of the company's spend / strategic sourcing activities for MRO, Consumables and other services which cannot be directly allocated to the cost of manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:
Objectives:
- Total national spend analyses based on historical information through the supply market (local, overseas).- Identification of new suppliers and management of new and existing suppliers (local, overseas).- Development of category sourcing strategies (where to buy considering tender requirements, demand and supply situation, while minimizing risk and costs).- Coordinate and manage strategic procurement process for design/services/works projects of a complex or special nature.- Negotiation with suppliers (products, service levels, prices, liabilities/warranties, geographical coverage, etc.).- Negotiation and execution of Supply Agreements.- Work with Legal and Finance to develop contracting standards and policies, ensuring all contracts are developed in accordance with company and Group guidelines.- Ensure contractors and suppliers' selection criteria include a thorough supplier price, technical, safety, environment, risk and quality performance assessment before the supplier / contractor is selected.- Develop a system of monitoring supplier / contractor performance on a regular frequency basis, in terms of compliance to company safety, environment, quality requirements and total cost of ownership.- Liaise with internal stakeholders and corporate legal staff to prepare legally binding and enforceable documents.- Prepare and implement national sourcing strategies for indirect spend category.- Create, conduct, manage, implement and analyse national and Group level RFx's.- Create, manage, implement and monitor KPI's.- Recommend and execute systems and processes improvements to increase contract effectiveness within the company.- Ensure and manage optimal supplier selection and evaluation process by conducting quality / safety/ environmental systems and processes audits of potential and existing suppliers in order to guarantee the optimum supplier base.- Undertake regular market surveys in order to assure up to date market, technical and supplier information for internal and customer use.- Special projects and other assignments as requested or assigned.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- At least 5 years' experience in Strategic Category Management, Contract Management, Supplier Management and business-related disciplines.- A relevant tertiary qualification to degree level in procurement, supply chain, business, commerce or equivalent experience, engineering knowledge would of advantage.- High level understanding of the legal and contractual framework for supply chain operations.- Experience using Six Sigma & Lean manufacturing would be well regarded.- Territory Qualified.- Experience with Lean manufacturing.
Language Skills:
- Excellent communication and representational skills to represent the company on high levels and within international regions.
Reasoning Ability:
- Sound interpersonal skills.- Strategic thinking.
Computer Skills:- Relevant experience in Microsoft programs.- Experience in SAP.
Work Environment:
- Comprehensive experience with international suppliers/customers and capability to operate successfully in fore
