ILSC & Greystone College, part of the ILSC Education Group, is a private college located in the heart of CBD.
We provide English language training as well as and vocational courses (VET) in Marketing, Project Management and Business to international students living in Australia.
ILSC & Greystone College seeks an enthusiastic Student Advisor to join our friendly and supportive team at our CBD campus.
This position is a varied and challenging role and has plenty of opportunity for growth and development the international education industry.
The Student Advisor role is responsible for a variety of functions, such as:
Student Advising Support

• Assist in coordinating and providing student advising services to students (ELICOS & VET) on aspects such as cultural acclimatization and general academic concerns.

• Supporting student accommodation requests (i.e. Homestay and student residence)

• Support the management of non-academic issues and escalate exceptional cases as needed

• Supporting the supervision of the team on academic and financial intervention and problem-solving (if required)

• Knowledge of in-house mental health services for students as well as students' health

• Ensure special duty of care is followed for underage students on campus with regular check-ins

• Supporting the supervision of the team on preparation for new student intake (ELICOS & VET)

• Supporting the supervision of the team on answering agents' phone calls, responding to questions about current student status and providing course information.

• Supporting the supervision of the team on acting as a point of contact for walk-in students, conducting school tours and ensuring successful conversion.

• Supporting the supervision of the team in facilitating student extensions

• Supporting the supervision of the team on the creation and revision of invoices and payment plans.

• Issuing COEs and working with the school's database system.

• Support special national projects.

• Ensure student advising service is consistent, professional, timely, and proactive.

• Ensure service delivery procedures are in line with ILSC's guidelines

• Adhere to the national registration's policies and procedures
Other

• Assisting the Manager, National Manager & Academic director with assigned tasks.

• Attending general staff and team meetings and training sessions as assigned.

• Supporting the management of the day-to-day activities of the team.
(Email, student counselling, agency visit, campus tour etc.)

• Support motivating the team to achieve organizational goals (provide good customer service)

• Support the manager in delegating tasks to team members.
Developing and implementing a timeline to complete tasks

• Supporting the training of team members to maximise their potential

• Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, knowledge, and communication skills.

• Contributing to the growth of the company through a successful team

• Creating a pleasant working environment that inspires the team
Selection Criteria:
1. Experience working in an international college and / or school
2. Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
3. Outstanding organisational skills
4. Demonstrated customer service skills
Effective and clear written and oral communication in English
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Excellent technical skills (database, Microsoft 365, PRISMS etc)
8. Able to respond appropriately and promptly to a variety of enquiries from current and prospective students, agents and sales teams
9. Able to find information and problem solve
10. Able to work collaboratively with other departments
11.Able to be flexible, adaptable and to problem solve
12.Able to manage time and systems
13.Able to plan, organize, set priorities
14.Patient, empathetic and approachable
15.Able to maintain composure and professional behaviour at all times, especially while under pressure
16.Proactive in taking the lead on tasks and collaborate with the workload of the team.
Work Hours:
This position has an immediate opening.
The position is based at the Sydney Campus.
