Patent Assistant

An exciting opportunity is available for an accurate, motivated and reliable Patent Assistant with 2+ years' secretarial or administrative experience to join our team in Sydney, on a full-time basis.The successful candidate will provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys in the Chemical/Life Sciences patent teams with a focus on assisting them in managing their practices, actioning client instructions and managing critical deadlines.Some key responsibilities for this role include:Maintaining data in the Firm's case management system (Inprotech).
Drafting and preparing correspondence and liaising with clients and associates on behalf of attorneys.Creating, finalising and distributing invoices, including submitting to client specific portals.Producing, amending and preparing official documentation for lodgement.Conducting document research and/or obtaining status reports through IP databases and IP Australia.Providing administrative support to attorneys by managing tasks that enhance efficiency and ensure timely completion of work, including tracking daily and weekly deadlines and overseeing workflow.Spruson & Ferguson is committed to creating a flexible work environment and we are offering hybrid work options for this position.
