The role of a Patent Attorney involves advising clients on intellectual property matters and representing them in patent applications and litigation.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with senior staff to understand client needs and develop effective strategies for protecting their intellectual property rights. This includes drafting patent specifications, prosecuting patent applications to grant, and providing advice on IP strategy.

Your responsibilities may also include:

  • Drafting and Prosecution: assisting senior staff in client meetings, reviewing and construing technical materials and patent documents received from clients, writing patent claims and detailed descriptions;
  • IP Strategy: working with senior staff to strategize commercial outcomes for clients, assisting with freedom to operate review and opinion, providing novelty, infringement or validity opinions;
  • Team Collaboration: collaborating with law group and other multi-disciplinary teams, litigation support, referring work, reviewing searches with search teams;
  • Business Development: writing articles, attending industry events, co-presenting with senior staff at industry and client events;

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about intellectual property law and has excellent communication skills. As a Patent Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the growth and success of our team.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
