Lead Litigation Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to lead our litigation team as Director of Litigation. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to important work and be instrumental in the outcomes of regulatory activities.
Provide expert legal advice on statutory responsibilities, service deliverables, and regulatory functions.
Lead and manage the Commission's litigation team effectively.
Prepare, instruct, and appear in applications, prosecutions, injunctions, and enforcement actions before disciplinary bodies, courts, and agencies.
Advise, mentor, support, and provide leadership to staff while fostering a positive team culture.
Review, develop, and drive legislative and policy changes to enhance regulatory functions.
Monitor and improve policies, procedures, work practices, and management systems for efficient standards of service.
Advise, mentor, and support the team with high standards of professional ethical conduct.
Be responsible for statutory delegations and maintain high standards of professionalism.
Travel within Queensland for Court or Tribunal hearings, requiring a current driver's license.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in litigation, strategic legal advice, policy delivery, and performance management.
Exceptional leadership skills, strong communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high standards of professionalism.
Effective conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement.
Strong leadership and management skills with ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
