About the Role
As an Investigator within the Enforcement team, you will play a key role in compliance, investigation and enforcement activities. Your immediate focus will be to undertake criminal investigations into alleged noncompliance of the Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 1991, Contract Cleaning Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2005 and Community Services Industry (Portable Long Service) Act 2020.
Reporting to the Investigations Manager, Enforcement, you will:
Respond to and investigate alleged breaches of the legislation including investigation planning, information and evidence gathering, conducting interviews, collecting witness statements, preparing Brief of Evidence for court proceedings.
As appropriate, exercise powers of an Authorised Officer under the Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 1991, Contract Cleaning Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2005 and Community Services Industry (Portable Long Service) Act 2020.
Undertake compliance and enforcement investigation and enforcement activities according to relevant compliance priorities, strategies, plans and procedures.
Provide accurate high-level advice to stakeholders and team members on Portable Long Service Leave matters and applicable legislation in ways that foster voluntary compliance.
Contribute to the continuous improvement, review and implementation of compliance strategies, plans and procedures.
Mentor and provide guidance to other team members in responding to compliance breaches.
Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including other government agencies, industry and the community to promote compliance and stakeholder support for the program and participate in community engagement activities.

Proven ability to independently conduct and manage investigations ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Provide high-level verbal and written communication, including the preparation of investigative reports, Briefs of Evidence, and clear correspondence with stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve shared goals and maintain productive working relationships.
There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however the following will be highly regarded:
A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Justice or similar qualification
experience in investigation management, investigations, brief management and providing oral evidence in court.
