**About the Opportunity**
As the Head of Product and Nuclear Safety you will contribute to the assurance of product and nuclear safety requirements for ASC programs; you will ensure that they are complete, consistent, and correct whilst providing Safety Engineering and Human Engineering capability and governance for conventional and nuclear projects.
**Responsibilities**
Reporting to the General Manager Nuclear Oversight; you will be responsible for developing product and nuclear safety assurance frameworks for decision making and governance arrangement, provide advice to SSN sustainment and build programs, ensure that Product and Nuclear Safety initiatives and investigations build and assure confidence, define best practice in delivering Product and Nuclear Safety outcomes, leading a team of 5 direct reports across areas including safety engineering and human engineering, and adhering to nuclear legislation regulations and licensing arrangements for SSN sustainment and build activities.
**About You**
To be successful as out Head of Product and Nuclear Safety you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in nuclear, safety or human engineering or related disciplines
- 10+ years' experience developing and managing system safety programs
- Professional certifications/memberships in a nuclear field
- Post graduate qualifications in nuclear engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior nuclear role, preferably in defence/shipbuilding /energy sector
- Minimum 10 years' experience developing and managing system safety programs
- Experience with Human Engineering programs
- Strong knowledge of nuclear and submarine licensing and their regulatory requirements
**Eligibility**
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
