About Central Australian Women's Legal Service (CAWLS)
Central Australian Women's Legal Service (CAWLS) is a dynamic Community Legal Centre serving women in Central Australia and the Barkly Region.
With offices in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek, CAWLS supports women impacted by Domestic and Family Violence through a holistic and culturally safe approach.
CAWLS provides a broad range of services including legal representation, client support, financial counselling, community legal education, and law reform.
Our team is dedicated to the mission of CAWLS to enable, educate, and empower women in navigating the legal system, and ensure the respect and consideration of women's rights.

About the Opportunity
CAWLS is looking for a part-time Human Resource Lead (3 days/week), working remotely.
This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services and ensuring compliance with organisational values and policies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing the employee life cycle including recruitment, onboarding, and exit.
Providing HR support, working with staff and management to address issues with sensitivity and confidentiality.
Assisting in performance management and development of training programs.
Developing, implementing, and monitoring HR policies, ensuring legal compliance.
Maintaining accurate HR records and preparing reports.
Assisting with payroll processes.
About You
To qualify, you will need a relevant HR qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Human Resources) and at least 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
Highly valued skills and background include:
Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and enterprise agreements.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
Proactive problem-solving approach and the ability to work independently and in a team.
