The role drives policies, programs and initiatives relating to workforce strategy and development, enhancing the employee lifecycle through strategic change management, talent acquisition for firefighter recruitment, retention and performance development to support the organisational culture.
The role will provide oversight of complex employee relations matters, ensuring timely and compliant resolution in line with legislative and industrial obligations.
While the MFS Principal Industrial Relations Adviser leads industrial relations matters, the Manager Human Resources supports these efforts and collaborates closely with Executive and the Principal Industrial Relations Adviser to contribute to the Enterprise Bargaining negotiations with Government and relevant associations.
Primary Objectives Providing strategic leadership in the development and delivery of human resource management within the MFS.
Lead the implementation of the MFS and ESS strategic plans, policies and priorities related to human resource management in line with whole of government strategic objectives.
Offer expert advice, leadership and guidance to MFS leaders and employees in the management of employee and industrial relations matters.
Working with MFS staff to resolve matters, including grievances, complaints, conflict resolution, disputes and disciplinary matters, in close partnership with the MFS and in collaboration with the Principal Industrial Relations Adviser.
Drive reform initiatives by leading effective change management processes and responsive human resource services.
Identify and address strategic and operational workforce issues impacting MFS performance and initiate improvement strategies to support government and portfolio objectives.
Provide strategic advice to leaders to enable sound decision making and effective workforce management.
Assist in coaching and supporting leaders to build strong, engaged and high-performance teams.
Contribute to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
Foster and maintain positive working relationships with MFS personnel and stakeholders across the Emergency Services Sector by collaborating with SA Fire and Emergency Services Commission, the South Australian Country Fire Service, and the South Australian State Emergency Service.
Work side-by-side with SAFECOM Workforce Strategy, particularly the Senior HR Business Partner to enhance workforce capability within the MFS by providing specialist human resource services, advice and collaborate on key human resource initiatives.
Essential Qualifications : A tertiary qualification in human resource management or a relevant discipline and / or equivalent experience Remuneration : MAS3127,859 Special Conditions : Engagement will be subject to a satisfactory Emergency Services Sector Criminal History Check.
