Academic Data Analyst Position Summary:The Academic Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving decision-making processes within our institutions. They are responsible for collecting, analysing and reporting academic data to ensure data integrity and deliver insights that advance strategic goals.We seek an exceptional individual with strong analytical skills, technical expertise and excellent communication abilities to join our team as an Academic Data Analyst.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop methods and reports to collect and retrieve relevant data, collaborating with student records, regulatory and other staff as needed.
  • Collect and analyse data related to academic metrics, student performance, enrolment trends and academic program effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems and records necessary for projects and department functions.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare reports for leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns and predictions using relevant data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data-related needs and support their data analysis requirements.
  • Issue student and graduate surveys, collate and analyse data received, and compile reports to report on student and graduate outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development and data mining.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with data management and analysis tools specific to the academic sector.
