Overview
Desktop Engineer contract position for a leading retail brand. Provide Level 1 and some Level 2 support across MS/Windows technologies and environments. Support hardware and software over phone, email, and face-to-face.
Responsibilities
Participate in technology department projects and diagnose issues in the network and desktop environment under IT Management direction.
Provide desktop support including visiting end users to research and resolve hardware/software/connectivity issues.
Install, configure, and repair standard desktop configuration images on laptops/desktops.
Administer desktop computer support including hardware and software installation and configuration.
Provide day-to-day desktop support, hardware/software installation and troubleshooting.
Facilitate remote access to user PCs using remote desktop, VNC, unsolicited remote assistance, and TeamViewer.
Use remote desktop tools to monitor, shadow, and troubleshoot issues with field devices.
Perform remote and off-site support for various clients to provide network, desktop, and phone support.
Qualifications
Ideally graduated with an IT degree/diploma/certificate
Experience providing Level 1 and 2 support and working in a small team
Experience supporting Windows technologies and environments (Windows OS, O365, MS Suite, AD, Exchange)
Strong work ethic, communication skills, and willingness to learn
Proactive attitude with accountability and a desire to progress in your career
Job Details
Employment type: Contract
Location: Thornleigh, Sydney
Hours: 5 days in the office
Pay: up to $45/hr inc super
Duration: 3 months with extension potential
Industry: IT Services and Retail (enterprise client)
Experience with POS terminals is highly regarded.
