Cloud SRE Engineers should have knowledge of automating Infrastructure creation, deployment, and management in private, public and hybrid cloud models.
You will have a solid grasp of automating Infrastructure within AWS (as a bonus, also Azure & GCP, but this isn't essential) using Terraform and Concourse CI as well as proficiency in Python and/or JSON.
You will have a hands-on approach and be able to work from high-level architecture to detailed design and implementation using DevOps and SRE approaches.
What you'll do:
- Deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automation tooling (mainly Concourse CI and Terraform) across Sky's AWS, Azure and GCP portfolio
- Deliver automation and orchestration of business and technology workflows across Sky's cloud estate using IaC and Automation tooling
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies, services, and tools for innovative new capabilities
- Provide and deliver Proof of Concept (PoC) activities for Infrastructure automation tools and approaches, building these out to full Production services as required
What you'll bring:
- You Must have Concourse CI experience- Extensive experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Concourse CI in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments- Significant experience in the design and automated delivery of highly available and resilient technology Infrastructure for bare metal, virtualized, containerised and Cloud Native solutions- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language used for Infrastructure automation (e.g., JSON, Python, etc. )- Robust understanding of DevOps and SRE approaches and methodologies and using DevOps tooling (e.g., Git, Jira etc.) to build software artefacts and IaC solutions- Solid experience in working in Agile (Scrum) teams - preferably in Jira.- Intellectual curiosity and an inquiring mind - you will seek out innovative approaches, ideas and opportunities and be able to demonstrate a track record of doing so to bring about positive change- Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills
