About The Opportunity
As a Payroll Coordinator, you will:
Coordinate the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation, enterprise agreements, and University policies.
Proactively review payroll processes and systems, identifying opportunities to streamline, digitise, and improve efficiency.
Conduct compliance checks, audits, and reconciliations to safeguard payroll integrity.
Provide advice on payroll matters, including entitlements, overpayments, deductions, and award/classification changes.
Support internal and external audits, while building stronger governance and risk management frameworks.
Collaborate with People & Culture, Finance, and IT teams to implement process improvements and support system enhancements.
About You
Ascender Pay experience essential
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience delivering payroll services in a complex, regulated environment.
A strong improvement mindset, with proven experience in reviewing processes, solving problems, and implementing more efficient ways of working.
Solid knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and payroll compliance requirements.
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to generate insights and drive smarter decision-making.
Strong customer focus, accountability, and the confidence to challenge existing practices constructively.
