**POSITION PURPOSE**

We're looking for an outstanding Experience Design Lead to support our ongoing transformation of student placement services and counsellor-facing experiences.

This role will be responsible for the design, development, and iteration of digital UX output across IELTS and Student Placement product lines. Leading a digital UX team in Melbourne Head Office to design and evolve our user experiences and to deliver with product and development teams through to successful implementation, also providing design review and guidance to our UX team in India.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Leading the UX team and creating a design practice**

Leading a UX team, comprising three UX designers, along with a UX researcher in India, this role will have experience across UX research, UX design and Human Centred Design. The incumbent will work to transform the team into a design practice to support a wide variety of stakeholders with competing needs and priorities.
- Lead the creation, evaluation and iteration of user experience and user interface designs for new products, including but not limited to initiatives and projects for key digital channels.
- Lead UX Designers to prioritise and elicit feedback from users and incorporate into design.
- Work with content and social media roles on delivering social media video projects, including live video
- Translate insights and business needs into concepts that are value-adding, simple, and functionally effective.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to design and deliver journeys, wireframes, and designs, optimised for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Live HCD - observe end-users, prototype, test and iterate to improve usability and the user experience of our products and services.
- Govern the design process and outputs, ensuring designs are inclusive, are true to our brand values and consider accessibility and mobility

**UX Delivery**

Working, hands on, to deliver UX output to support a broad set of development and iteration across Student Placement and IELTS. The role will bring a creative and user-centric approach to network enhancements, products, and projects, and lead the team to create digital assets for web, app, and video.
- Lead the team to iterate upon SP and IELTS style guides for digital products in consultation with our brand, customers, and product teams.
- Translate brand guidelines into user interface designs whilst maintaining the integrity of the IDP brand, and without constraining usability of digital experiences.
- Guide the team to regularly iterate with used patterns so that adoption is more likely, ensure style guides are communicated and available and that patterns are being followed and reused.

**Experience Design**
- Supporting product owners in the creation of products and services that solve the real problems of users. Facilitating design sprints and inspiring both confidence and competence to embrace human centred design. Working closely with CX and analytics teams to ensure inferred and explicit data, behaviour, and insights, along with UX research findings and principles, are considered to integrate the needs of users, the business and the potential of technology
- Lead design sprints, developing and iterating the methodology and embedding it as a new way of working for product, UX and digital experience and broader teams
- Make effective use of analytics and UX tools and research to evaluate, learn and iterate on the user experience.

**EXPERIENCE & SKILLS YOU NEED**
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in design, digital media, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 5 years + experience working in design field, in an agile environment using relevant practices and principles such as Value Proposition, Minimum Viable Product, User Stories, Rapid Prototyping, and iterative development.
