Your part in The Wesley Hospital team

This position provides effective strategic, operational and professional leadership / management for a team of Speech Pathologists, Dietitians and other Nutrition services at The Wesley Hospital, and other Uniting Care tertiary hospitals as required.

Reporting to the Allied Health Manager, this role is a critical member of the Allied Health Leadership Team and aims to ensure patient-focused, evidence based, effective and efficient clinical care in Speech Pathology and Nutrition services.

What makes a difference for us?

Speech Pathology Specialty
- A Bachelor or Masters degree in Speech Pathology
- Current Certified Practicing Speech Pathology status with Speech Pathology Australia
- A postgraduate tertiary qualification in a clinical or health management field is highly desirable
- Competency in Tracheostomy

Nutrition Specialty
- A Bachelor or Masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognised tertiary institution
- Current Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status with Dietitians Association of Australia
- A postgraduate tertiary qualification in a clinical or health management field is highly desirable
- Experience navigating electronic systems to support safe nutritional requirements in a hospital setting

As well as:

- Demonstrated, relevant clinical experience in a comparable (acute hospital or ambulatory service) setting
- Demonstrated high level ability to lead and manage a medium business unit that is focussed on providing services within a performance management and outcome driven environment.
- Confidence in supporting clinical governance across specialty's
- Demonstrated ability in innovative planning for future delivery of patient centred Speech Pathology and Nutrition services
- Demonstrated well developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills at a senior management level with clients, strategic partners and key stakeholders.
- Ability to provide authoritative counsel to relevant managerial and executive level stakeholders, both internally and externally, on complex service issues relevant to Speech Pathology and Nutrition services
