Our vibrant School is seeking a strategic, experienced and committed finance professional to join our executive team in this pivotal leadership role. Commencing as soon as possible, the Head of Finance is a full-time position reporting to the Principal through the Director of Business and is a member of the Principal's Advisory Group and Leadership Team.
The Role
The Head of Finance plays a key leadership role in stewarding the School's financial sustainability. Working closely with the Director of Business, Financial Controller and broader Finance team, the Head of Finance is responsible for ensuring strong systems, compliance and financial insight across all finance and audit activities.
This role supports robust internal controls, forward planning and business sustainability. It includes preparing strategic advice, managing complex budgets and capital projects, and providing high-level reporting to the Principal and Board. As a visible and collaborative leader, the Head of Finance also contributes to School-wide planning, risk mitigation, and operational oversight.
Essential Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a tertiary accounting qualification and CPA or CA status
Have extensive experience in senior finance roles in complex organisations
Demonstrate strong financial management, analysis and reporting capabilities
Possess deep understanding of compliance, governance and regulatory requirements
Be a strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Have demonstrated leadership in managing teams and fostering a high-performance culture
Display integrity, discretion and commitment to continuous improvement
Show strong technology proficiency in finance and reporting platforms.
