The Role – Head of Finance

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to join our team, reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager. This is a key leadership role providing strong financial stewardship and strategic partnership across the business. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of the company by leading financial planning, enhancing systems and governance, and supporting business unit leaders to drive profitable growth.

Role Overview

Based in our Sydney Head Office, the Head Of Finance will be responsible for leading the finance function, supporting the execution of business strategy, and enhancing systems and reporting frameworks. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a finance professional with strong commercial acumen, a strategic mindset, and a collaborative leadership style.

Key Responsibilities

Provide financial leadership across the organisation, partnering with the CEO and senior leadership team.

Lead the development and execution of the finance and IT strategic plans.

Drive business performance by working closely with business unit managers to support profitable growth and expansion of existing business lines.

Oversee all financial operations including statutory and regulatory reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.

Lead and enhance the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting.

Establish and develop a high-performing, service-oriented finance team and build a functional structure to support growth.

Ensure strong governance and internal control frameworks are maintained and enhanced.

Manage key external relationships with auditors, bankers, legal advisors, insurers, and IT providers.

Actively participate in the Pacific West senior leadership team, contributing to strategic discussions and business planning.

Support the development and refinement of company strategy in collaboration with the CEO.

Work with Operational Management across Pacific West to gain stakeholder buy-in and utilise organisational capabilities to assist with implementation and delivery of strategic projects and initiatives.

Review and Monitor progress against business case forecasts for approved strategic initiatives.

The Person

We are seeking a Head of Finance who is:

Commercially astute and strategically minded, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Collegiate, outgoing, and a strong communicator, able to influence and build relationships across all levels.

Action-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on approach to leadership.

Experienced in partnering with operational leaders to improve financial capability and performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or Business (Bachelor's degree or MBA).

Extensive financial leadership experience in a complex, high-growth environment.

Proven experience in financial strategy, project management, and ERP/IT systems implementation.

Previous exposure to board-level reporting and engagement.

Strong understanding of global finance operations, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or related industries.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. (This role will have 2-3 direct reports)
