We are looking for an HSE specialist to join our team in Melbourne for the NEL project. As the primary HSE representative on site, the HSE specialist ensures that exemplary Health, Safety, Environment, well-being, and Sustainability standards are met.
- Assist management in daily pre-starts, communicate safety topics and alerts as needed.
- Assist site Working Groups with the development of Safe Work Procedures, task hazards analysis, safe work method statements (SWMS), and other risk assessments. Provide coaching, mentoring and advising to all levels of the workforce to promote a safe work culture.
- Develop plans, procedures, and policies to continuously improve the EHS program
- Guide and assist the Project Management team on OHS obligations and requirements as stipulated under relevant legislation, contract specifications, and company policies and procedure requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of site based environmental, health and safety plans.
- Notifies, investigates, and reports incidents in a timely manner, including implementation of corrective actions are closed out.
- Point of contact for site grievances and injury management.
- Initiate and coordinate training programs on varied occupational health and safety topics.
- Ensure and monitor the safety of employees and sustainability of the project
- To provide Health and Safety specialist advice and technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal and contractual obligations / risks are identified and communicated appropriately.
- Maintain records of all Health and Safety requirements at the workplace, in accordance with legislative company requirements and provide statistical summaries of these records.
- Manage and Conduct return to work activities onsite.
- Ensure compliance is met with the project HSEQ requirements and specifications.
- Comply to obligations as stipulated under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017.
