The role of Environment, Health and Safety Coordinator is now available in Melbourne.
This position will work closely with the Production and Maintenance departments, ensuring a supportive team environment with a proactive approach to prioritizing the workforce's health & safety.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Health, Safety & Environment and Production team by providing counsel and advice on HSE Systems, safety reporting, and coordinating HSE programs.
- Establish a strategy for improving safety performance.
- Develop and implement HSE policies, plans, programs, and systems to meet organisational objectives.
- Coordinate and manage the implementation of Zero Harm Promotions and safety reporting.
- Take accountability for safety compliance and achievement of lead and lag indicators.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Safety System assurance and Quality systems for the site.
- Manage site EHS Improvement Plan.
- Train and induct workers and operators, contractors, and visitors, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
- Perform safety walks, audits, and assessments on-site and virtually.
- Support policy and procedure maintenance and development.
- Provide advice and assistance in the management of workers compensation and rehabilitation of injured workers.
Requirements:
- A Diploma or higher in a related discipline with a Safety/HR focus.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to engage with and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- The ability to work in a team environment, collaborating to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Recent experience in a similar EHS (quality assurance desirable) role within the manufacturing industry.
- 5 Why, Bowtie, ICAM, Lead Auditor, and/or RTW training - desirable but not essential.
