The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker - Advanced (Identified) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide quality care, including health awareness, education and health intervention strategies for individuals and the community
- Provide support and advocacy to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and their families accessing services
- Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to regularly liaise, communicate and network with a range of stakeholders
- Network and negotiate with other organisations, services and health professionals, as required
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (or equivalent)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Driver Licence
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent part time (38 hrs p.f.)
- Base salary ranging from $35.81 - $38.30 per hour
About Us
The Better Cardiac Care Program is designed to provide health equity to First Nations people. The model comprises a multidisciplinary team, including Clinical Nurse Consultant, Indigenous Health Worker and Pharmacist, supporting First Nations people with heart disease. The Better Cardiac Care Program is part of Chronic Disease and Post-Acute Programs which provides community-based services for clients as a continuum of care, aimed at supported self-management, rehabilitation and secondary prevention. Based in Robina.
