This senior role provides local leadership to our Melbourne-based water resources engineers, driving technical excellence, client satisfaction, and team growth.About the RoleReporting to the Manager – Water Resources Engineering (VIC/NSW), you will:Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to Melbourne-based engineers.Oversee day-to-day team operations, including workload coordination, work allocation, and deadline management.Liaise with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery.Supervise, review, and approve technical work to ensure compliance with quality standards.Scope projects, prepare fee proposals, and manage project budgets.Assist with financial duties including invoicing, variations, and reporting.Represent BW at meetings, presentations, and public forums.Contribute to the continued growth of the Water Resources division.About YouYou will bring:Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Chartered/Registered in Victoria preferred).7+ years' experience in water resources or civil stormwater engineering, including leadership or senior-level responsibilities.Strong technical skills in hydrology, drainage design, and modelling (ARR2019, Melbourne Water Standards).
Proven project management skills — delivering on time, on budget, and to client satisfaction.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.Financial acumen in budget management, fee proposals, and invoicing.Experience liaising with Melbourne Water, councils, or other authorities (highly regarded).
