Job Title:Water Resources Engineering Team Lead

About the Role

The Water Resources Engineering Team Lead will provide direction and guidance to a team of water resources engineers, promoting technical excellence, client satisfaction, and professional growth.

  • Provide leadership and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Oversee daily operations, including workload management, work allocation, and deadline adherence.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Evaluate and approve technical work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop project proposals, manage budgets, and assist with financial duties.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, presentations, and public forums.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Water Resources division.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (preferably Chartered/Registered in Victoria).
  • At least 7 years' experience in water resources or civil stormwater engineering, including leadership or senior-level responsibilities.
  • Strong technical skills in hydrology, drainage design, and modeling (ARR2019, Melbourne Water Standards).
  • Proven project management skills, delivering projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Financial acumen, including budget management, fee proposals, and invoicing.
  • Experience working with Melbourne Water, councils, or other authorities.
