Head Of Securitisation And Structured Finance

**How will I help?**

Reporting to the MD, Head of Debt Products you will be an integral part of the leadership team delivering Debt products to our core institutional customers. You will be responsible for managing, building and leading the provision of Structured Finance products and services to the Westpac Institutional Bank client base. This is a distinctive opportunity to head up the market leading team for innovative financial structures such as warehousing facilities, asset backed bonds & bespoke debt structures.

You will hold a deep understanding of the external Structured Finance market in Australia and Internationally and will adapt the Structured Finance strategy to competitor positioning and behaviour. You will lead a large team of seasoned professionals to generate debt structuring ideas to lead and engage with customers and drive new business growth.

Your remit will include balance sheet, capital and liquidity optimisation and meeting regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as ensuring sound risk assessment for credit decisioning. Your leadership role will require you to engage and motivate a high-performance team of ~20, attracting and retaining talent. You will be required to maintain strong working relationships with other Debt Product teams, Industry Coverage, Chief Operating Office and Business Controls and Monitoring, Risk, Service, Operations teams to meet the teams business objectives.

**What do I need?**

To be set up for success in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

- Proven ability to successfully lead a team of structured finance and/or Securitisation financiers;
- proven structured deal origination and execution history across a range of industries;
- proven experience in executing sophisticated financing structures e.g. Securitisation, receivables based finance, asset backed bonds;
- proven experience supporting customers through changing external markets;
- proven domestic and international network (i.e. Banks, Advisors & customers);
- thorough working knowledge of tax, accounting, and regulatory issues related to Structured Finance APS120;
- minimum tertiary qualification in Finance or related discipline;
- you will be a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills;
- you will hold strong leadership and teamwork skills;
- knowledge and demonstrated implementation of compliance and risk management.
