We are seeking a Major Research Initiatives Officer to join Office of Research Services, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

- ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centres/Research Hubs

- Medical Research Future Fund initiatives
- Internally funded cross faculty/centres
- Large research infrastructure initiatives

**What you need to succeed**

1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of contractual issues relevant to research agreements, including intellectual property, and demonstrated experience in reviewing and negotiating agreements.

4. Demonstrated high level verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively consult and negotiate with internal and external clients from all organisational levels on a range of sensitive and confidential issues in a professional and confident manner, including the ability to negotiate contractual arrangements (with legal support).

5. Demonstrable knowledge of the current research funding environment, national policies and funding issues relating to research grants and contracts administration.

6. Demonstrated ability to interpret large and complex policy documents.

7. Experience in the development of policies and procedures on matters relating to major research initiatives external research requirements.
